THE ALL-NEW F-150 REVEAL

Ford once again looked to wow the world with a revamping of an American icon. Their crown jewel, the F-150. Naturally this required an event for its own! However, the pandemic put a huge damper on what was going to initially be a populated reveal with many people and press. That had to change. So what we see here is a socially distanced, reimagined approach to a safer and more cautious company protocol while still maintaining a style and concern for press appeal.

I was responsible for providing the storyboarding for the main F-150 “building” sequence. Doing research on the actual manufacturing process of the F-150 and then visualizing in for a more stylized approach.

My boards were then given to Vandal, an Australian motion graphics studio based out of Sydney. As the whole world was working remote, I would work with my director as we would be on call with Vandal to better flesh out the narrative, all while still getting feedback from Ford marketers. In the end we had a truly sophisticated and authentic vision for the F-150 to be built. The truck, after it is “built” and given its torture test and approved, is then revealed on a sound stage and revealed to the world.

Live, CGI and AR segments were all illustrated for this. Also included are various overlay graphics provided by yours truly which consist of on-screen callouts and lower thirds.
