Visa Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

At GMR one of the projects I found myself on was making some of the supportive experiential marketing for Visa at this year’s winter olympics in Beijing. Visa of course is a brand partner of the IOC and is the exclusive credit card for the event.

Having a new “humanist, progressive, and minimalist” style guide, Visa was eager to have a bold, fresh look at the event in various Olympic Village stores scattered through the park. This included designing everything from the stand up signs, posters, register wraps, stickers, shopping bags, etc, which also included some minor, but involved industrial/product design on our end as I was on a small team of designers for the project.

Team Visa are a group of athletes that Visa wanted postered on various assets. Throughout the campaign you will see the inclusion of all athletes from a wide arrange of backgrounds, not just American exclusively.

Also here’s a fun extra. I proposed “hanging structure” that I had the pleasure of designing over the register area. Unfortunately while Visa was excited about it; they didn’t want to expend the resourcing in building something so grand. So it lives now in a dead end AI file, never to have seen construction.
